Venezuelan Mystic

Venezuelan Mystic is produced from the roasted and fermented Trinitario cacao beans.
Trinitario has an interesting origin: once the Trinidad’s Criollo “farms” were destroyed in the eighteenth century, Forastero trees were brought to the island and they cross-pollinated with the remaining Criollo trees.
Mystic is very bitter, a little creamy but a little gritty on the tongue at the same time. By the second sip the initial bitterness practically disappears, although it is still less smooth and creamy than our other products (Gorilla and Classic Cacao).
It smells like dried fruits and vanilla. Some of the cacao lovers say that they can taste honey and caramel this particular Cacao.
Mystic comes in rectangular plates which makes it easier to cut into smaller pieces. You can even take the plate without blending and eat it as a raw-cacao snack.
Mystic is mysterious and tricky. For connoisseurs!
Note: the plates may differ in colour and have more friable form – it’s all right, this is an outcome of an oxidation process.
